Our last hours in San Francisco! Though we actually have a full day to explore since our flight to Boston wasn’t till later at night. We had plenty of tourist attractions/must-do’s to check off our list, thankfully we had a car to get us to each point easily. We farewelled our cosy little airbnb studio in Noe Valley, I miss waking up to the visual reminder that we are in America every morning. I don’t miss walking up the steep hills to get ‘home’.
Twin Peaks Summit
We wanted to get to a look out in each city we visited, for San Francisco the obvious choice was the Twin Peaks Summit – it was the highest point in San Francisco with the best views of town afterall. Couldn’t quite see the bridges unfortunately, maybe if we had wandered to the other vantage points we might be lucky. According to the map, the summit was actually quite close to where we stayed however what made it a long drive was going around a few hills before we got to the top. We initially planned to see it at night but since we saw LA during the night, this would be a nice change. The weather assured us that we made the right choice! We were there around 10AM and surprisingly it wasn’t packed with tourists like the other lookouts for the Golden Gate Bridge which was a relief. There were only 2-3 other small groups/couples that we shared this amazing view with… pretty open space so no fighting for the best angle to selfie in!
Cute Houses of San Francisco
SF has the cutest houses I’ve seen to date! I don’t think I’ll get tired of driving around and admiring every detail! You could easily get away with painting your house pink in SF, because it’ll fit right into all the other pastel coloured homes. From Twin Peaks, we drove through a few neighbourhoods like Haight Ashbury, Mission District… on the way to Lombard St.
Lombard Street
One of the World’s Crookedest Street
Can’t not leave San Francisco without driving through/seeing the street thats famous for being on a steep hill with 8 hairpin turns. We drove down it 2-3 times and walked up and down it as well! Not that we loved it but … all to get some vlog footage! I commend those who can skilfully drive down this tight stretch of road while taking selfies/video.
I have split our last day into 2 parts just so it won’t be a long post to scroll through! That one will be up this week 🙂
Come back shortly!
