The last week has returned to some sort of normal, even if it was only for a few days. My relatives spent the week visiting my parents in Vanuatu and it seemed like they had a blast of a time! Particularly my 70+ year old grandma, who I can’t believe actually went kayaking. I can only wish that I’d be just as adventurous when I reach 70!… like maybe finally overcome my fears of jumping off a plane {sky diving}.
Although the week was quiet, I still don’t know where my time went! For one, it was Anzac Day on Monday meaning the week is cut short. We usually take a road trip out to Mt Wilson during Anzac long weekend but ended up staying locally and revisited some childhood activities.
Kite flying – old school?
Like…. we FINALLY went kite flying! I FINALLY got to test out my $2.80 kite from Daiso which worked so well! Is kite flying even still a ‘thing’ these days? I feel so old school doing it! But like, why aren’t people out there flying kites? So much fun and could give your arms and legs a good work out after a few minutes!
Jungle Book
This movie, is beautiful and highly recommended! So amazing watching childhood favourites that were once 2D films now turned into live action films. I can’t help but wonder how certain scenes were filmed and whether they were real backdrops or not to begin with!
Tried out the new cafe in Chatswood called “Flower Child”
Autumn in Bowral
We usually only go to Bowral during spring time for the gardens but on Saturday we got to see it in a different colour palette – oranges, reds, yellows… yes Autumn! I wish we could’ve jumped out of the car and took a few proper shots… but we were there for a wedding and time was tight.
Foodie Highlight
Now, I’ve been DREAMING about these red velvet cupcakes from Melbourne all April. I was tossing between spending my birthday weekend in Cradle Mountain OR go to Melbourne (and treat myself a dozen or so of these little treats!). I obviously decided to go hiking rather than eating non-stop. Fast forward a few weeks later, our friend WL messages us out of the blue and says he has something for us… you guessed it. RED VELVET CUPCAKES from LITTLE CUPCAKES! I felt like some of my birthday wishes were answered there and then. Now I need to plan an escape to Melbourne for more.
Autumn makes Bowral’s color stand out. This is also the greatest season to travel and explore the highlands of Australia.
