Of our list of favourite experiences in Bali, spending an afternoon at The Rock Bar was one of them. With our priority access (being Rimba guests) we arrived at the top of the stairs and were pretty much the first ones in the priority line, there were probably about 20 or more people in the public queue. It was 4PM when we got there, we thought we’d spend some time in the queue! Instead it meant more time enjoying the sun go down and melting at the same time. Yes, it is ridiculously hot out here but thankfully they provide umbrellas for shelter (not wise that they’re black though!).
A 2 hour wait for the sunset surprisingly went by quickly since we kept ourselves busy with (a sensible amount of) cocktails and nibbles. This experience doesn’t come cheap where prices of food and drinks is similar to what we pay in Sydney. It was pretty cool waiting for sun set and seeing so much OCEAN!
Definitely an experience we’d recommend, even if you’re not staying at Rimba/Ayana. The Rock Bar is a larger area than what we saw in photos, apparently after our trip they expanded even more, which would definitely help with the queues!
