The only time we set foot on sand (other than dining at Jimbaran Beach) was during our stay at Rimba. We checked out their private beach – Kubu beach. We assumed that it was part of the Ayana resort but turns out it was a few stops away (on the resort’s shuttle). Taking the shuttle ride makes you realise how big Ayana/Rimba is! We arrived at the most amazing view of pristine blue waters, Ayana villas perched high up on the cliffs (wouldn’t mind staying there!) and endless OCEAN. This place is definitely postcard worthy and even more breathtaking in person!
After a long walk down via a set of stairs we found ourselves on a little beach for hotel guests only. The water looked beautiful, but what we didn’t realise was how strong the tides were until we got in. We were good for a few minutes and suddenly a wave swallowed our GoPro from Alfred’s hand (that’s my present to Alfred last Christmas) :\ I immediately thought there was no hope of getting it back. Alfred still tried getting it in between waves but with no luck. The lifeguard saw us and ran over to help – this guy must be an expert at retrieving these things, just imagine all the silly asians probably bringing selfie sticks in with them heh. After a few tries…. HE SAVED OUR GOPRO! WELCOME BACK HOLIDAY MEMORIES! – That was probably the most action we got from a mostly relaxing day…lol
Other than that, it was pretty sweet laying back with this view in sight for the morning 😉
